Abstract
A magnetic field generator assembly is configured to be associated with a table supporting a body. The magnetic field generator comprises a plurality of magnetic field transmitters, each comprising interlacing layers of conductive material, configured to provide increased magnetic strength and minimal fluoroscopic occlusion. The interlacing layers of conductive material can be arranged in rectangular spiral formations.
Claims19
A medical imaging system, comprising:
- a magnetic field generating assembly, including:
- a first conductive coil located on a first plane, the first conductive coil including a first elongate conductive element wound around a first central axis in a first spiral formation, the first elongate conductive element having a first width,
- a second conductive coil located on a second plane, the second conductive coil including a second elongate conductive element wound around a second central axis in a second spiral formation, the second elongate conductive element having a second width, wherein the first spiral formation and the second spiral formation each have a rectangular shape including a plurality of rectangular coils bends,
- a dielectric substrate layer located between the first conductive coil and the second conductive coil, and
- an isolated pattern of conductive elements located within the dielectric substrate layer between the first conductive coil and the second conductive coil.

A medical imaging system, comprising:
- a table configured to support a body;
- a housing secured to the table;
- a magnetic field generating assembly disposed within the housing, the magnetic field generating assembly including:
- a first elongate conductive element having a flat profile wound around a first central axis in a first rectangular spiral formation,
- a second elongate conductive element having wound around a second central axis in a second rectangular spiral formation,
- wherein the first central axis is offset from the second central axis such that a plurality of gaps are formed between the first elongate conductive element and the second elongate conductive element, wherein the plurality of gaps are positioned adjacent to a rectangular bend of the first rectangular spiral formation;
- and
- an isolated pattern of conductive elements located within a dielectric substrate layer positioned between the first elongate conductive element and the second elongate conductive element,
- wherein the pattern of conductive elements is aligned to overlap the plurality of gaps between the first elongate conductive element and the second elongate conductive element, wherein the pattern of conductive elements is located within the housing.
