Abstract
In this application is described a mutant Acinobacter baumannii strain having a deletion or mutation in its genome. The deletion or mutation interrupts the proper translation of the Hcp protein.

An Acinetobacter baumannii strain comprising a transposon comprising an antibiotic resistance gene and two loxP sites,
- wherein the two loxP sites flank the antibiotic resistance gene,
- wherein the transposon is inserted into the genome of the Acinetobacter baumannii and
- interrupts the expression of hcp (hemolysin co-regulated protein),
- wherein the strain is AB5075 deposited as Patent Deposit Number PTA-127747.
