Clock manager monitoring for time synchronized networks

A computing-implemented method, comprising:

• receiving messages with time information for a network;
• generating, by a clock manager, clock manager control information to adjust a clock to a network time for the network;
• receiving, by a detector, the clock manager control information;
• generating, by a clock manager estimator of the detector, model control information based on a clock manager model comprising an analytical model representing a behavior of the clock manager,
• comparing, by the detector, the clock manager control information with the model control information to generate difference information;
• and
• determining, by the detector, whether to generate an alert based on the difference information.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage device, storing instructions that when executed by processing circuitry of a controller of a time sensitive network (TSN), cause the controller to:

• receive messages with time information for a network;
• generate, by a clock manager, clock manager control information to adjust a clock to a network time for the network;
• receive, by a detector, the clock manager control information;
• generate, by a clock manager estimator of the detector, model control information based on a clock manager model comprising an analytical model representing a behavior of the clock manager;
• compare, by the detector, the clock manager control information with the model control information to generate difference information;
• and
• determine, by the detector, whether to generate an alert based on the difference information.
