Particle suppressor for a centrifugal particle receiver

A particle suppressor for a receiver having a rotating drum, the particle suppressor comprising:

• a support ring;
• and
• a plurality of suppressor segments coupled to and extending circumferentially around the support ring, the plurality of suppressor segments each comprising a portion of a retaining surface, wherein the retaining surface is configured to be spaced radially inward from and extend concentrically with an interior surface of the rotating drum, wherein a spacing gap is formed between the interior surface and the retaining surface, wherein the retaining surface is configured to dampen a motion of one or more particles introduced into the rotating drum.

A particle suppressor for a receiver having a rotating drum, the particle suppressor comprising:

• a retaining surface extending concentrically with an interior surface of the rotating drum, wherein the retaining surface is disposed radially inward from the interior surface to define a spacing gap between the interior surface and the retaining surface;
• and
• a plurality of suppressor segments, wherein each of the plurality of suppressor segments comprises a portion of the retaining surface, wherein the retaining surface is configured to dampen a motion of one or more particles introduced into the rotating drum, wherein each of the plurality of suppressor segments is coupled to the rotating drum by a standoff rod.
