Abstract
The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for marking/tagging objects for identification. In particular, tagging objects with a nucleic acid taggant (genetic tag based merchandise authentication).
Claims20
A method of processing an object including a nucleic acid taggant for authenticating or tracking the object, the method comprising:
- obtaining the object including the nucleic acid taggant, the nucleic acid taggant including telomeres;
- treating the object to remove the nucleic acid taggant;
- cleaving the telomeres of the nucleic acid taggant;
- and
- reapplying the nucleic acid taggant without the telomeres to the object as an indication of authenticity.

- obtaining the object including the nucleic acid taggant, the nucleic acid taggant including telomeres;
- treating the object to remove the nucleic acid taggant;
- cleaving the telomeres of the nucleic acid taggant;
- and
- reapplying the nucleic acid taggant without the telomeres to the object as an indication of title transfer.
