A Fischer-Tropsch catalyst comprising greater than about 40% by weight of cobalt and having a packed apparent bulk density of cobalt greater than about 0.60 g/mL, or greater than about 0.65 g/mL, or greater than about 0.70 g/mL, greater than about 0.75 g/mL, or greater than about 0.80 g/mL.
