Abstract
A method for treating a heart valve involves delivering a catheter into a ventricle of a heart, advancing a coil from the catheter, rotating the coil at least partially around a papillary muscle of the ventricle, embedding a distal end of the coil in tissue of the ventricle, and manipulating a suture coupled to the coil to adjust a position of the papillary muscle.
Claims19
A method for treating a heart valve, the method comprising:
- introducing a coil to a ventricle of a heart;
- wrapping the coil along an inner wall of the ventricle;
- and
- capturing papillary muscles of the ventricle within the coil to thereby draw the papillary muscles together.

A method for treating a heart valve, the method comprising:
- introducing a helical cinching device to a ventricle of a heart using a transcatheter access path, the helical cinching device having a spring bias;
- wrapping the helical cinching device along an inner wall of the ventricle;
- and
- drawing inward, using the spring bias of the helical cinching device, at least one of the inner wall of the ventricle or papillary muscles captured by the helical cinching device to thereby remodel a heart valve associated with the ventricle to reduce regurgitation.
1 more element
A method for treating a heart valve, the method comprising:
- introducing an elongate sleeve to a ventricle of a heart;
- attaching the elongate sleeve to an inner wall of the ventricle;
- introducing a coil spring to the ventricle;
- after said attaching the elongate sleeve to the inner wall of the ventricle, inserting the coil spring in the elongate sleeve inside the ventricle;
- and
- drawing the inner wall of the ventricle inward using the coil spring and the elongate sleeve, thereby bringing leaflets of an atrioventricular heart valve into coaptation to reduce regurgitation associated with the heart valve.
