Abstract
A container for dispensing bait in variable amounts and at variable rates. A method can include changing configurations of two attachable sleeves, where the different configurations result in different overlapping of openings in the attachable sleeves. The different overlapping of openings allows fishermen the flexibility to better control the dispensing of bait and/or chum by varying the size of the openings.
Claims20
An adjustable multi-direction dispersion device comprising:
- an inner sleeve having at least one wall and multiple inner openings of a similar size distributed generally consistently across the wall, a top portion of the inner sleeve being substantially open;
- an outer sleeve having at least one wall and multiple outer openings of a similar size distributed generally consistently across the wall, the outer sleeve having a top surface that is closed and that is substantially flat;
- the inner and the outer sleeves fixable in a lower rate orientation and a higher rate orientation;
- the higher rate orientation positioning the inner and the outer openings in alignment pairs having greater alignment such that each pair forms a larger through-hole;
- the lower rate orientation positioning the inner and the outer openings in alignment pairs having lesser alignment such that each pair forms a smaller through-hole;
- wherein, when the inner and the outer sleeves are secured together in either the lower or higher rate orientation, the alignment pairs and through-holes are distributed generally consistently around the surface the outer sleeve and are thereby configured to disperse bait in multiple directions;
- and
- wherein when the inner and the outer sleeves are secured together, the top surface of the outer sleeve covers the open top portion of the inner sleeve, thereby preventing material from exiting the inner sleeve through the open top portion.

A bait container comprising:
- an inner attachable sleeve having a plurality of inner holes, a top portion of the inner attachable sleeve being substantially open;
- and
- an outer attachable sleeve configured to be attached to the inner attachable sleeve in a plurality of configurations, the outer attachable sleeve having a plurality of outer holes, the outer attachable sleeve having a top surface that is closed and that is substantially flat;
- wherein, in a lower-dispersion configuration with smaller effective openings, the inner attachable sleeve has a first orientation with respect to the outer attachable sleeve, and in a higher-dispersion configuration with larger effective openings, the inner attachable sleeve has a second orientation with respect to the outer attachable sleeve,
- wherein at least one smaller effective opening is formed by an overlap between at least one inner hole and at least one outer hole, and the smaller effective opening is smaller than each of the inner and the outer holes, and
- wherein when the inner attachable sleeve and outer attachable sleeve are secured together, the top surface of the outer attachable sleeve covers the open top portion of the inner attachable sleeve, thereby preventing material from exiting the inner attachable sleeve through the open top portion.
