A kit comprising a virus-like particle (VLP) comprising CHIKV strain 37997 structural proteins, wherein the CHIKV strain 37997 structural proteins comprise at least CHIKV capsid (C) protein, CHIKV E2 protein, and CHIKV E1 protein, and wherein the VLP does not carry genetic information encoding the VLP proteins.
