Abstract
A method includes providing a distraction device, and providing, separate from the distraction device, a disposable force sensor pod configured to be removably coupled to the distraction device. The method also includes communicating, by the disposable force sensor pod, information relating to distraction of a joint by the distraction device to a computing system.
Claims9
A method, comprising:
- providing a distraction device, the distraction device including a first member and a second member, a hinge coupled to the first and second members, and a third member coupled to the hinge and manipulable to exert a force on a proximal portion of the second member;
- coupling a disposable force sensor pod to any of the second or third member of the distraction device;
- and
- communicating, by the disposable force sensor pod, information relating to distraction of a joint by the distraction device to a computing system.
