Abstract
A frame apparatus for displaying a flat article and a combined frame apparatus and flat article. In one aspect, the frame apparatus includes a display frame defining a rabbet, a stack positioned in the rabbet, and a spacer apparatus. The rabbet is defined by a floor and a wall. The wall includes an engagement feature which may be a channel. The spacer apparatus is configured to be positioned in the rabbet and engagement features thereof extend into the channel in the wall of the rabbet to couple the spacer apparatus to the display frame. The spacer assembly may also be in contact with the stack to hold the stack in the rabbet.
Claims20
A frame apparatus comprising:
- an annular display frame comprising:
- a rabbet defined by a floor and a wall;
- and
- at least one groove formed into the wall of the rabbet;
- an annular spacer frame configured to be detachably coupled to the annular display frame within the rabbet, the annular spacer frame comprising:
- an inner surface that defines an opening;
- an outer surface opposite the inner surface, at least one locking tab protruding from the outer surface;
- a front surface that faces the floor of the rabbet when the annular spacer frame is coupled to the annular display frame;
- and
- a rear surface opposite the front surface, at least one gripping tab protruding from the rear surface of the annular spacer frame in a first direction that is opposite a direction of the front surface of the annular spacer frame relative to the rear surface of the annular spacer frame;
- and
- wherein when the annular spacer frame is positioned within the rabbet of the annular display frame, the at least one locking tab of the annular spacer frame nests within the at least one groove of the annular display frame to lock the annular spacer frame to the annular display frame.
A frame apparatus comprising:
- an annular display frame comprising:
- a first side, a second side opposite the first side, a third side, and a fourth side opposite the third side, the third and fourth sides extending between the first and second sides;
- a rabbet defined by a floor and a wall, the rabbet extending along each of the first, second, third, and fourth sides of the annular display frame;
- and
- a groove formed into the wall of the rabbet, the groove extending continuously along each of the first, second, third, and fourth sides of the annular display frame;
- an annular spacer frame configured to be detachably coupled to the annular display frame within the rabbet, the annular spacer frame comprising:
- an inner surface that defines an opening;
- and
- an outer surface opposite the inner surface, at least one locking tab protruding from the outer surface;
- wherein when the annular spacer frame is positioned within the rabbet of the annular display frame, the at least one locking tab of the annular spacer frame nests within the groove of the annular display frame to lock the annular spacer frame to the annular display frame.
A frame apparatus comprising:
- an annular display frame comprising:
- a front surface;
- a rear surface;
- a rabbet defined by a floor and a wall, the wall comprising at least one first engagement portion;
- and
- an annular spacer frame configured to be detachably coupled to the annular display frame within the rabbet, the annular spacer frame comprising:
- an inner surface that defines an opening;
- an outer surface opposite the inner surface, the outer surface comprising at least one second engagement portion;
- a front surface that faces the floor of the rabbet when the annular spacer frame is coupled to the annular display frame;
- and
- a rear surface opposite the front surface, at least one gripping tab protruding from the rear surface;
- and
- wherein when the annular spacer frame is positioned within the rabbet of the annular display frame, the at least one second engagement portion of the annular spacer frame engages the at least one first engagement portion of the annular display frame to lock the annular spacer frame to the annular display frame, the rear surface of the annular spacer frame is recessed relative to the rear surface of the annular display frame, and the at least one gripping tab extends from the rear surface of the annular spacer frame in a direction towards the rear surface of the annular display frame.
