Tangle-resistant decorative lighting assembly

A tangle-resistant decorative-lighting assembly forming a generally rectangular shape with four sides and four corners, comprising:

• a power plug;
• a pair of power wires electrically connected to the power plug, including a first internally-reinforced power wire and a second internally-reinforced power wire, the first internally-reinforced power wire including a plurality of conductor strands positioned at a central portion of the first internally-reinforced power wire, a plurality of reinforcing strands, and an outer insulation layer, and the second internally-reinforced power wire including a plurality of conductor strands positioned at a central portion of the second internally-reinforced power wire, a plurality of reinforcing strands, and an outer insulation layer;
• a plurality of internally-reinforced intermediate wires in electrical connection with the power wires and the power plug, each of the plurality of internally-reinforced intermediate wires including a plurality of conductor strands positioned at a central portion of the internally-reinforced intermediate wire, a plurality of reinforcing strands, and an outer insulation layer;
• a plurality of lighting assemblies in electrical connection with the plurality of internally-reinforced intermediate wires;
• one or more mechanical support cords mechanically connected to the plurality of lighting assemblies, which in cooperation with the intermediate wires forms the generally rectangular shape with the four sides and four corners;
• wherein a first side of the generally rectangular shape extends between the first corner and a second corner and is formed by a portion of one or both of the first and second power wires, and a second side of the generally rectangular shape extends between the first corner and a third corner and is formed by one or more of the mechanical support cords.
