Building construction

A device for use in an opaque building structure, configured for installation in a space between exterior sheathing defining an exterior inner surface in the opaque building structure and an interior wallboard defining an interior inner surface in the opaque building structure to form a tandem series of highly reflective insulation elements within the space, the device comprising:

• a first rigid material insulation element having a first face supporting a first heat energy highly reflective surface and having a second face supporting a second heat energy highly reflective surface, wherein the first rigid material insulation element comprises a primarily insulating material with a thickness between 0.25 inches and 1.0 inches;
• and
• a second rigid material insulation element having a third face supporting a third heat energy highly reflective surface in parallel with and forming a first air space of still air with the second heat energy highly reflective surface, wherein the second rigid material insulation element comprises a primarily insulating material with a thickness between 0.25 inches and 1.0 inches;
• wherein the first air space, the second heat energy highly reflective surface, and the third heat energy highly reflective surface form a first highly reflective insulation element;
• and
• wherein, when the device is installed in the space with the first heat energy highly reflective surface parallel with and facing the exterior inner surface and forming a second air space of still air between the first heat energy highly reflective surface and the exterior inner surface, the second air space, the first heat energy highly reflective surface, and the exterior inner surface form a second highly reflective insulation element.

A device for use in a building structure, comprising:

• a first opaque rigid material insulation element having a first face supporting a first heat energy highly reflective surface and having a second face supporting a second heat energy highly reflective surface, wherein the first opaque rigid material insulation element comprises a primarily insulating material with a thickness between 0.25 inches and 1.0 inches;
• and
• a second opaque rigid material insulation element having a third face supporting a third heat energy highly reflective surface in parallel with and forming an air space of still air with the second heat energy highly reflective surface, wherein the second opaque rigid material insulation element comprises a primarily insulating material with a thickness between 0.25 inches and 1.0 inches;
• wherein the air space, the second heat energy highly reflective surface, and the third heat energy highly reflective surface form a highly reflective insulation element.
