Abstract
Systems and methods for affecting spin qubits. In a resonator, an optical field is generated using photons. The optical field causes a stress field to form in the resonator as portions of the resonator oscillates. These oscillations, tunable using lasers and/or injection locking, drive spin transitions to thereby affect the population of specific NV spin qubits present in the resonator.
Claims22
A method for manipulating spin qubits, the method comprising:
- (a) generating an optical field at a resonator by directing at least one photon along an optical waveguide adjacent said resonator, wherein said optical waveguide is oriented such that said resonator is free from direct irradiation by said at least one photon;
- (b) generating a stress field at a mechanical resonance frequency, said stress field being generated due to said optical field;
- and
- (c) affecting states of spin qubits present on said resonator by way of said stress field,
- wherein said spin qubits are affected by said stress field regardless of optical transitions of said spin qubits.

A method for controlling spin qubits, the method comprising:
- generating photons to cause an optical field in a resonator by directing at least one photon along an optical waveguide adjacent said resonator, wherein said optical waveguide is oriented such that said resonator is free from direct irradiation by said at least one photon;
- causing oscillations in said resonator due to said optical field;
- tuning said oscillations;
- and
- affecting populations of spin qubits in said resonator by way of said oscillation,
- wherein said spin cubits are affected by said stress field regardless of optical transitions of said spin qubits.
