Abstract
What is provided is a fluorine-containing ether compound represented by the following formula. R1—CH2—R2—CH2—OCH2CH(OH)CH2O—CH2—R3—CH2—R4 (In the formula, R2 and R3 are perfluoropolyether chains, and R1 and R4 are terminal groups having two or three polar groups, in which individual polar groups are bound to different carbon atoms and the carbon atoms to which the polar groups are bound are bound to each other via a linking group having a carbon atom to which the polar groups are not bound).

A fluorine-containing ether compound represented by Formula (1) below,
- R1—CH2—R2—CH2—OCH2CH(OH)CH2O—CH2—R3—CH2—R4 (1)
- (in Formula (1), R2 and R3 consist of perfluoropolyether chains;
- and —CH2—R1 and —CH2—R4 are represented by Formula (2) below),
- —CH2—[A]—[B]—OZ (2),
- in Formula (2), [A] is represented by Formula (3) below, [B] is represented by Formula (4) below, Z is H or a group represented by Formula (5) below;
- [A] and [B] in Formula (2) may be exchanged with each other, and Z is the group represented by Formula (5) below in a case where [A] is directly bound to —OZ, and
- in Formula (3), X is an integer of 0 to 2, in Formula (4), Y is an integer of 0 to 1 and a is an integer of 1 to 4;
- the sum of X in Formula (3) and Y in Formula (4) is 1 or 2;
- and b in Formula (5) is an integer of 2 to 4.
