Abstract
A carbon capture system can include a plurality of CO2 thermal swing adsorption (TSA) beds. The plurality of CO2 TSA beds can include at least a first TSA bed, a second TSA bed, and a third TSA bed configured to capture CO2 within a capture temperature range and to regenerate the captured CO2 at a regeneration temperature range above the capture temperature range. The carbon capture system can include a plurality of valves and associated flow paths configured to allow switching operational modes of each of the first, second, and third TSA beds.

A carbon capture system, comprising:
- a plurality of thermal swing adsorption (TSA) beds for CO2 capture, including at least:
- a first TSA bed configured to capture CO2 within a capture temperature range and to regenerate captured CO2 at a regeneration temperature range above the capture temperature range;
- a second TSA bed configured to capture CO2 within the capture temperature range and to regenerate captured CO2 at the regeneration temperature range;
- and
- a third TSA bed configured to capture CO2 within the capture temperature range and to regenerate captured CO2 at the regeneration temperature range;
- a plurality of valves and associated flow paths configured to allow switching operational modes of each of the first TSA bed, the second TSA bed, and the third TSA bed;
- and
- a dehydration subsystem to remove water from a portion of an engine exhaust flow, the dehydration subsystem including:
- a plurality of first dehydration TSA beds upstream of and separate from the plurality of TSA beds;
- or
- a plurality of second dehydration TSA beds that are physically integrated with the respective first, second, and third TSA beds.
A carbon capture system, comprising:
- a plurality of thermal swing adsorption (TSA) beds for CO2 capture, including at least:
- a first TSA bed configured to capture CO2 within a capture temperature range and to regenerate captured CO2 at a regeneration temperature range above the capture temperature range;
- a second TSA bed configured to capture CO2 within the capture temperature range and to regenerate captured CO2 at the regeneration temperature range;
- and
- a third TSA bed configured to capture CO2 within the capture temperature range and to regenerate captured CO2 at the regeneration temperature range;
- a plurality of valves and associated flow paths configured to allow switching operational modes of each of the first TSA bed, the second TSA bed, and the third TSA bed;
- and
- a header assembly coupled between the first, second, and third TSA beds.
A carbon capture system, comprising:
- a plurality of thermal swing adsorption (TSA) beds for CO2 capture, including at least:
- a first TSA bed configured to capture CO2 within a capture temperature range and to regenerate captured CO2 at a regeneration temperature range above the capture temperature range;
- a second TSA bed configured to capture CO2 within the capture temperature range and to regenerate captured CO2 at the regeneration temperature range;
- and
- a third TSA bed configured to capture CO2 within the capture temperature range and to regenerate captured CO2 at the regeneration temperature range,
- wherein each TSA bed includes a top, a bottom, and one or more sides between the top and the bottom, and wherein a diameter or width of the one or more sides is greater than a height between the top and the bottom;
- and
- a plurality of valves and associated flow paths configured to allow switching operational modes of each of the first TSA bed, the second TSA bed, and the third TSA bed.
