Abstract
The invention describes method for delivering and positioning radio-isotopes. The method uses encapsulating free flowing medicament into a leak proof vehicle and positioning the vehicle into the body. Also provided is a system for delivering and positioning radio-isotopes into the body, the system comprising fluid radio-isotope encapsulated in a leak proof material and/or absorbable material.
Claims6
A method for delivering and positioning radio-isotopes into a body, the method comprising:
- a) encapsulating free flowing radio-isotope into an elongated unpartitioned leak proof vehicle;
- and
- b) positioning the vehicle into the body,
- wherein the vehicle comprises a leak proof balloon positioned within a semi rigid isotope carrier substrate, wherein the semi rigid isotope carrier substrate comprises a material selected from the group consisting of nitinol, platinum, stainless steel, tungsten, nitinol alloys, platinum alloys, stainless steel alloys, tungsten alloys,_memory shaped substrates, coated polymers, and combinations thereof.
