Abstract
An electronic smoking article includes a liquid supply including liquid material, a heater operable to heat the liquid material to a temperature sufficient to vaporize the liquid material and form an aerosol, a wick in communication with the liquid material and in communication with the heater such that the wick delivers the liquid material to the heater, at least one air inlet operable to deliver air to a central air passage upstream of the heater, and a mouth end insert having at least two diverging outlets.
Claims17
An electronic vaping device comprising:
- a casing extending in a longitudinal direction;
- a vaporizer configured to generate a vapor, the vaporizer in the casing;
- a mouth-end insert at an end of the casing, said mouth-end insert including,
- a single, non-recessed mouth-end surface, the single, non-recessed mouth-end surface being flat,
- at least two diverging outlets at ends of at least two diverging outlet passages, the at least two diverging outlets being coplanar at the single, non-recessed mouth end surface of the mouth-end insert and in the same plane as the single-non-recessed mouth end surface, the at least two diverging outlet passages each having an interior surface, and
- a domed inner surface adjacent ends of the at least two diverging outlet passages, and
- a hollow at a convergence of the at least two diverging outlet passages, the domed inner surface, the hollow, and the interior surface of each of the at least two diverging outlet passages configured such that droplets of liquid material impact portions thereof so as to break apart the droplets;
- and
- a power supply configured to supply power to the vaporizer.
A cartridge of an electronic vaping device comprising:
- a casing extending in a longitudinal direction;
- a vaporizer configured to generate a vapor, the vaporizer in the casing;
- and
- a mouth-end insert at an end of the casing, said mouth-end insert including,
- a single, non-recessed mouth-end surface, the single, non-recessed mouth-end surface being flat,
- at least two diverging outlets at ends of at least two diverging outlet passages, the at least two diverging outlets being coplanar at the single, non-recessed mouth end surface of the mouth-end insert and in the same plane as the single-non-recessed mouth end surface, the at least two diverging outlet passages each having an interior surface, and
- a domed inner surface adjacent ends of the at least two diverging outlet passages, and
- a hollow at a convergence of the at least two diverging outlet passages, the domed inner surface, the hollow, and the interior surface of each of the at least two diverging outlet passages configured such that droplets of liquid material impact portions thereof so as to break apart the droplets.
