Abstract
Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a device may receive, at a modem of the device, a plurality of data packets associated with one or more connections. The device may group, at the modem of the device, data packets, of the plurality of data packets, associated with a connection, of the one or more connections, into a container based at least in part on one or more characteristics associated with the modem or the data packets. The device may transmit, from the modem to a processor of the device, the container of grouped data packets. Numerous other aspects are provided.
Claims30
An apparatus for wireless communication at a device, comprising:
- a memory;
- a processor;
- and
- a modem configured to:
- receive a plurality of data packets associated with one or more connections;
- negotiate, with the processor, a timer value for grouping data packets, of the plurality of data packets, associated with a container;
- group the data packets associated with a connection, of the one or more connections, into the container based at least in part on one or more characteristics associated with the modem or the data packets and based at least in part on the timer value;
- and
- transmit, to the processor, the container of the grouped data packets;
- and
- the processor configured to:
- transmit, to the modem, an indication that subsequent data packets associated with the connection are to not be grouped by the modem into any containers based at least in part on a buffer efficiency of a buffer associated with the connection being less than a threshold, the buffer efficiency of the buffer corresponding to a size of a grouped frame divided by a full size of the buffer.
A method of wireless communication performed by a device, comprising:
- receiving, at a modem of the device, a plurality of data packets associated with one or more connections;
- negotiating, with a processor of the device, a timer value for grouping data packets, of the plurality of data packets, associated with a container;
- grouping, at the modem, the data packets associated with a connection, of the one or more connections, into the container based at least in part on one or more characteristics associated with the modem or the data packets and based at least in part on the timer value;
- transmitting, from the modem to the processor, the container of the grouped data packets;
- and
- transmitting, from the processor to the modem, an indication that subsequent data packets associated with the connection are to not be grouped by the modem into any containers based at least in part on a buffer efficiency of a buffer associated with the connection being less than a threshold, the buffer efficiency of the buffer corresponding to a size of a grouped frame divided by a full size of the buffer.
