Flow sensor and method for adjusting fluid flow measurement

A method comprising:

• receiving fluid in a fluid flow path of a flow sensor, wherein the fluid flow path includes a wall defining a flow channel for the fluid;
• determining, with a first sensor of the flow sensor connected to an inside surface of the wall of the fluid flow path, a first measurement of at least one of a thermal diffusivity of the fluid in the fluid flow path and a viscosity of the fluid in the fluid flow path;
• determining, with a second sensor of the flow sensor connected to the inside surface of the wall of the fluid flow path, a second measurement of at least one of a fluid flow velocity of the fluid in the fluid flow path and a volumetric flow rate of the fluid in the fluid flow path;
• and
• applying, with at least one processor, a correction to the second measurement based on the first measurement, wherein the fluid in the fluid flow path flows over or past the first sensor before the fluid in fluid flow path flows over or past the second sensor;
• and
• controlling, with the at least one processor, based on the adjusted second measurement, at least one of the following:
• one or more valves, one or more fluid delivery pumps, or any combination thereof, to modify the flow of the fluid in the fluid flow path,
• wherein the second sensor is connected to the inside surface of the wall of the fluid flow path at an entrance length region at which a velocity boundary layer exists and laminar flow of the fluid is not fully developed.
