Abstract
An access point in a wireless network communicates wirelessly with one or more client devices over a channel that includes a plurality of subchannels. Radar is detected on a first subchannel of the plurality of subchannels. It is determined to puncture the first subchannel, based on the detecting the radar on the first subchannel and based on one or more puncturing factors. The first subchannel is punctured, the puncturing comprising muting one or more subcarriers on the first subchannel.
Claims17
A method, comprising,
- at a wireless network device, the wireless network device comprising one or more processors and memory storing instructions for execution by the one or more processors:
- wirelessly communicating with one or more client devices over a channel that comprises a plurality of subchannels comprising a primary subchannel and a plurality of secondary subchannels;
- detecting interference on at least a first subchannel of the plurality of secondary subchannels;
- selecting, based on the detecting the interference on the first subchannel and based on one or more factors, an interference mitigation method from a plurality of interference mitigation methods;
- and
- executing the selected interference mitigation method,
- wherein at least a first interference mitigation method comprises puncturing the first subchannel, and
- wherein at least a second interference mitigation method comprises redefining the channel, wherein redefining the channel comprises ceasing to use the plurality of secondary subchannels while continuing to use the primary subchannel.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium containing computer program code that, when executed by operation of one or more computer processors, performs operations comprising:
- wirelessly communicating with one or more client devices over a channel that comprises a plurality of subchannels comprising a primary subchannel and a plurality of secondary subchannels;
- detecting interference on at least a first subchannel of the plurality of secondary subchannels;
- selecting, based on the detecting the interference on the first subchannel and based on one or more factors, an interference mitigation method from a plurality of interference mitigation methods;
- and
- executing the selected interference mitigation method,
- wherein at least a first interference mitigation method comprises puncturing the first subchannel, and
- wherein at least a second interference mitigation method comprises redefining the channel, wherein redefining the channel comprises ceasing to use the plurality of secondary subchannels while continuing to use the primary subchannel.
An access point for deployment in a wireless network, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing one or more programs for execution by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for performing operations comprising:
- wirelessly communicating with one or more client devices over a channel that comprises a plurality of subchannels comprising a primary subchannel and a plurality of secondary subchannels;
- detecting interference on at least a first subchannel of the plurality of secondary subchannels;
- selecting, based on the detecting the interference on the first subchannel and based on one or more factors, an interference mitigation method from a plurality of interference mitigation methods;
- and
- executing the selected interference mitigation method,
- wherein at least a first interference mitigation method comprises puncturing the first subchannel, and
- wherein at least a second interference mitigation method comprises redefining the channel, wherein redefining the channel comprises ceasing to use the plurality of secondary subchannels while continuing to use the primary subchannel.
