Unweighting exercise equipment

An exercise system for unweighting a user for an exercise session, the unweighting exercise system comprising:

• a treadmill comprising a rotatable belt adapted for user engagement during the exercise session, the rotatable belt having a belt width;
• an unweighting assembly adapted for retaining the treadmill in an exercise arrangement for the user while the unweighting assembly is in a pressurized state for the exercise session, the unweighting assembly having a framework and a substantially airtight chamber attached to the framework, the framework comprising:
• a plurality of connected frame members defining an inner cavity for retaining the treadmill;
• and
• a top surface region adapted for user engagement during the exercise session adapted to provide user access to a movable running surface defined by the rotatable belt, the movable running surface extending a run length, the top surface region having a surface width and a surface length, the top surface region comprising:
• a stationary deck extending about at least a portion of the movable running surface, the stationary deck defining a sealing surface having a maximum seal width less than the surface width.
