Abstract
Systems and methods for native heart valve repair includes an anchor. The anchor includes an anchor body configured to transition from a first configuration, in which the anchor body is straightened for transvascular delivery to the native heart valve, to a second configuration comprising at least two turns for implanting at the native heart valve. Two or more of the at least two turns in the second configuration have a diameter smaller than a major axis of the native heart valve.
Claims16
An anchor for use in repairing a native heart valve, comprising:
- an anchor body configured to transition from a first configuration, in which the anchor body is straightened for transvascular delivery to the native heart valve, to a second configuration with an upper portion configured to be deployed on an atrial side of the native heart valve and a lower portion configured to engage a ventricular side of leaflets of the native heart valve;
- wherein the upper portion and the lower portion together comprise at least two turns;
- wherein the lower portion in the second configuration is configured to have a diameter smaller than a major axis of the native heart valve;
- and
- wherein when the anchor body is in the second configuration the anchor is configured to attach to the leaflets without contacting an entire circumference of an annulus of the native heart valve.
An anchor for use in repairing a native heart valve, comprising:
- an anchor body configured to transition between an elongated delivery state enabling transcatheter delivery and an expanded, helical deployed state, the anchor body comprising an upper portion configured to be deployed on an atrial side of the native heart valve and a lower portion configured to engage a ventricular side of leaflets of the native heart valve;
- wherein the lower portion, in the expanded, helical deployed state, is configured to have a diameter smaller than a major axis of the native heart valve;
- and
- wherein, when the anchor body is in the expanded, helical deployed state, the anchor is configured to attach to the leaflets without contacting any portion of an annulus of the native heart valve.
An anchor for use in repairing a native heart valve, comprising:
- an anchor body configured to transition from a first configuration, in which the anchor body is straightened for transvascular delivery to the native heart valve, to a second configuration consisting of an atrial portion configured to be deployed on an atrial side of the native heart valve and a ventricular portion configured to engage a ventricular side of leaflets of the native heart valve;
- wherein the atrial portion and the ventricular portion together comprise at least two turns;
- wherein the ventricular portion in the second configuration has a diameter smaller than a major axis of the native heart valve;
- and
- wherein when the anchor body is in the second configuration the ventricular portion comprises a circular turn that is configured such that free edges of commissural regions between the leaflets of the native heart valve extend radially beyond an entirety of the ventricular portion when the anchor is implanted in the native heart valve.
An anchor for use in repairing a native heart valve, comprising:
- an anchor body configured to transition between an elongated delivery state enabling transcatheter delivery and an expanded, helical deployed state, the anchor body consisting of an upper portion configured to be deployed on an atrial side of the native heart valve and a lower portion configured to engage a ventricular side of leaflets of the native heart valve;
- wherein the lower portion, in the expanded, helical deployed state, is configured to have a diameter smaller than a major axis of the native heart valve;
- wherein the upper portion and the lower portion together comprise two or more turns that are configured such that, when the anchor body is in the expanded, helical deployed state the lower portion comprises circular turn that is configured such that free edges of commissural regions between the leaflets of the native heart valve extend radially beyond an entirety of the lower portion when the anchor is implanted in the native heart valve;
- and
- when the anchor body is in the expanded, helical deployed state the anchor is configured to attach to the leaflets without contacting an entire circumference of an annulus of the native heart valve.
