Abstract
The enlargement of photographs for mounting in a graphics display apparatus including a plurality of rectangular modular supports, a plurality of planar covers each releasably engageable over a front side of a support, and a plurality of connectors for releasably connecting adjacent supports. A customer supplies the photograph to a vendor and specifies a required size for printing of the photograph. The vendor prints the photograph as rectangular portions corresponding to a support of the graphics display apparatus. The vendor provides to the customer the supports, the portions of the photographs and/or covers, and the connectors for assembly by the customer of the display apparatus.
Claims20
A graphics display apparatus comprising:
- (a) a plurality of rectangular modular supports;
- (b) a plurality of planar covers each releasably engageable over a front side of a support;
- and
- (c) a plurality of connectors for releasably connecting adjacent supports;
- wherein:
- the supports each have a rectangular frame for edge-to-edge engagement with a frame of an adjacent support and sockets for the connectors that are provided along the frames;
- the supports are securable to each other by fitting a connector into corresponding sockets of adjacent supports;
- the connectors are engageable inside the sockets through resiliently deformable locking formations;
- edges of the frames are provided with abutting ridge formations that maintain spaces between adjacent supports and the covers are provided with end flanges that fit into the spaces;
- and
- at least one opening is provided through the front side of the supports located at each of the sockets to afford access on removal of the covers for manual release of the deformable locking formations to disengage the connectors from the sockets.
