Image panel having composite image using color changing with backlight illumination

An image panel, comprising:

• a glass substrate comprising a first major surface and a second major surface, the second major surface being opposite the first major surface;
• a first image layer disposed on the second major surface of the glass substrate, wherein, in a region of the image panel, the first image layer comprises a first ink having a first color;
• a diffuser layer disposed on the first image layer, wherein the diffuser layer reflects ambient light passing initially through the first image layer to enhance visibility of the first image layer through the glass substrate from the ambient light such that the image panel exhibits a first image from the ambient light when the image panel viewed from the first major surface;
• a second image layer disposed on the diffuser layer, wherein the diffuser layer is configured to block visibility of the second image layer from the ambient light, wherein:
• in the region, the second image layer comprises a second ink having a second color different from the first color, and
• when the region is backlit from the second major surface, light is transmitted through both the second ink and the first ink to form a composite image having a third color that is different from the first color and the second color via subtractive color mixing from the light by material of both the first image layer and the second image layer.
