A resin, comprising a compound of the following Formula 1-1:
- wherein n ranges from 1 to 5, and R1 is selected from a group consisting of:
- wherein n2 ranges from 2 to 6,
- wherein n3 ranges from 1 to 5,
- wherein n4 ranges from 2 to 10,
- wherein R2 is selected from a C1-C10 carbon chain or a group consisting of:
- wherein R3 is a single bond or selected from a group consisting of:
- wherein R4 is H, C1-C12 alkyl or allyl;
- and
- wherein R5 is a benzene ring, H, or C1-C12 alkyl.

A resin composition, comprising 30-50 wt. % of the benzoxazine resin of claim 1, 35-55 wt. % of a filler, 6-15 wt. % of a thermosetting resin, and 8-20 wt. % of a toughening agent.
