Abstract
A production environment enables the creation of media content featuring an instructor conducting a workout session, as well as the creation of command data for controlling output from a fitness apparatus. An instructor conducts a workout session while using a recording device to generate media data. Meanwhile, a computing device executes a client application to generate command data for controlling aspects of output provided by a fitness apparatus. The media data and the command data generated by the instructor can be transmitted to user computing devices over a network for consumption by users. The media data and the command data may be transmitted as a live stream while the instructor is conducting the workout session, or to be accessed on-demand by users at a later time.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- determining, by a computing device, and based at least in part on the computing device accessing and processing a script of a workout session, a sequence of output parameters for controlling output provided by a fitness apparatus over a duration of the workout session, wherein the script indicates exercise movements, a sequence of the exercise movements, and a number of repetitions of each exercise movement;
- generating media data using a recording device to record an instructor conducting the workout session while using the fitness apparatus;
- sending, by the computing device, and based at least in part on the sequence of output parameters, commands to the fitness apparatus for controlling aspects of the output provided by the fitness apparatus over the duration of the workout session;
- receiving, by the computing device, user input for adjusting an intensity of the output provided by the fitness apparatus at one or more times during the workout session;
- generating, by the computing device, and based at least in part on the sequence of output parameters and on the user input, command data specifying:
- operations;
- and
- timestamps within the media data at which the operations are to be performed during playback of the media data;
- and
- sending the media data and the command data over a network.
A system comprising:
- a recording device;
- a processor;
- and
- memory storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the system to:
- determine, based at least in part on the processor accessing and processing a script of a workout session, a sequence of output parameters for controlling output provided by a fitness apparatus over a duration of the workout session, wherein the script indicates exercise movements, a sequence of the exercise movements, and a number of repetitions of each exercise movement;
- generate media data using the recording device to record an instructor conducting the workout session while using the fitness apparatus;
- send, based at least in part on the sequence of output parameters, commands to the fitness apparatus for controlling aspects of the output provided by the fitness apparatus over the duration of the workout session;
- receive user input for adjusting an intensity of the output provided by the fitness apparatus at one or more times during the workout session;
- generate, based at least in part on the sequence of output parameters and on the user input, command data specifying:
- operations;
- and
- timestamps within the media data at which the operations are to be performed during playback of the media data;
- and
- send the media data and the command data over a network.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause performance of acts comprising:
- determining, based at least in part on the one or more processors accessing and processing a script of a workout session, a sequence of output parameters for controlling output provided by a fitness apparatus over a duration of the workout session, wherein the script indicates exercise movements, a sequence of the exercise movements, and a number of repetitions of each exercise movement;
- generating media data using a recording device to record an instructor conducting the workout session while using the fitness apparatus;
- sending, based at least in part on the sequence of output parameters, commands to the fitness apparatus for controlling aspects of the output provided by the fitness apparatus over the duration of the workout session;
- receiving user input for adjusting an intensity of the output provided by the fitness apparatus at one or more times during the workout session;
- generating, based at least in part on the sequence of output parameters and on the user input, command data specifying:
- operations;
- and
- timestamps within the media data at which the operations are to be performed during playback of the media data;
- and
- sending the media data and the command data over a network.
