Abstract
A vacuum that couples to storage units is provided. The vacuum includes a motor, an internal compartment, and an inlet and outlet that provide fluid communication between the internal compartment and an exterior of the vacuum. The vacuum includes one or more mechanisms to protect internal components from water damage and to prevent debris from escaping the internal compartment when the vacuum is being transported.
Claims14
A vacuum comprising:
- a motor;
- a housing that defines an internal compartment, wherein the housing defines an inlet through which debris enters the internal compartment when the motor is operating, and the housing further defines an outlet through which air exits the internal compartment when the motor is operating, wherein the inlet and the outlet are in fluid communication with an exterior of the housing, wherein the housing includes an interface configured to couple the vacuum to a modular tool storage device;
- an inlet stopping mechanism configured to interrupt fluid communication between the internal compartment and the exterior of the housing via the inlet when the motor is not operating, wherein the inlet stopping mechanism is biased towards sealing the inlet;
- and
- an outlet stopping mechanism configured to interrupt fluid communication between the internal compartment and the exterior of the housing via the outlet when the motor is not operating, wherein the outlet stopping mechanism is biased towards sealing the outlet.
