## Abstract

Methods and apparatus are described. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) includes a transceiver and a processor. The transceiver and the processor receive a master information block (MIB) on a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), wherein the MIB includes an indication of control channel element (CCE) resources, transmit uplink data on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH, and receive at least one CCE in the indicated CCE resources. The at least one CCE includes multiple bits, each of which indicates whether a respective block of data is required to be retransmitted. At least the multiple bits are channel coded and have a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) attached.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising:
a transceiver; and
a processor,
wherein the transceiver and the processor are configured to transmit uplink data on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH),
wherein the transceiver and the processor are further configured to receive a sequence of bits, wherein each of the bits in the sequence indicates whether a respective block of the uplink data is required to be retransmitted, and
wherein at least the bits in the sequence are channel coded and have a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) attached.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the transceiver and the processor are further configured to receive a master information block (MIB) on a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), wherein the MIB includes a configuration for a search space.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The WTRU of claim 2, wherein:
the MIB further includes an indication of resources configured for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), and
the transceiver and the processor are further configured to receive the bits using the resources.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the transceiver and the processor are further configured to transmit the respective block of the uplink data on the PUSCH in response to the received sequence of bits.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The WTRU of claim 4, wherein the sequence of bits comprises more than two bits.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The WTRU of claim 1, wherein the bits in the sequence are rate matched after being channel coded.

### Claim 7

A method, implemented in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method comprising:
transmitting uplink data on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH); and
receiving a sequence of bits, each of the bits in the sequence indicating whether a respective block of the uplink data is required to be retransmitted, and wherein at least the bits in the sequence are channel coded and have a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) attached.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, further comprising receiving a master information block (MIB) on a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), wherein the MIB includes a configuration for a search space.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method of claim 8, wherein:
the MIB further includes an indication of resources configured for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), and
the receiving the bits further comprises receiving the bits using the resources.

### Claim 10 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, further comprising transmitting the respective block of the uplink data on the PUSCH in response to the received sequence of bits.

### Claim 11 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, wherein the sequence of bits comprises more than two bits.

### Claim 12 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, wherein the bits in the sequence are rate matched after being channel coded.

### Claim 13

A base station comprising:
a transceiver; and
a processor,
wherein the transceiver and the processor are further configured to receive uplink data on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH),
wherein the transceiver and the processor are further configured to transmit a sequence of bits, each of the bits in the sequence indicating whether a respective block of the uplink data is required to be retransmitted, and
wherein at least the bits in the sequence are channel coded and have a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) attached.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)
