## Abstract

A valve assembly may provide a body comprising a bottom portion and a top portion having a threaded region, a closing mechanism situated above the top portion of the body, an actuator in communication with the closing mechanism, a nut configured to attach to the threaded region, and a threaded hole extending into at least one of the bottom portion of the body or the nut.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A valve assembly, comprising:
a body;
a closing mechanism coupled to the body;
an actuator in communication with the closing mechanism;
a first pipe extending through the body to the closing mechanism;
a second pipe extending through the body to the closing mechanism, wherein the first and second pipe form a flow path;
a nut coupled to the body, the nut comprising a first hole; and
a temperature sensor coupled to the first hole.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The valve assembly of claim 1, wherein the body comprises a bottom portion comprising a first perpendicular sidewall and a second perpendicular sidewall opposite the first perpendicular sidewall.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The valve assembly of claim 2, wherein the first pipe extends through the first perpendicular sidewall of the bottom portion of the body and towards a top portion of the body.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The valve assembly of claim 2, wherein the second pipe extends through the second perpendicular sidewall of the bottom portion of the body and towards a top portion of the body.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The valve assembly of claim 1, further comprising a second hole extending into the body and adjacent to the first pipe.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The valve assembly of claim 5, wherein the second hole is located a distance of 1 mm to 6 mm from the first pipe.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The valve assembly of claim 1, wherein the first hole is located a distance of 1 mm to 6 mm from the closing mechanism.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The valve assembly of claim 1, wherein the nut further comprises a top plate that is parallel with the closing mechanism and a side member extending downward from and perpendicular to the top plate.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The valve assembly of claim 8, wherein the first hole is located in the top plate.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The valve assembly of claim 8, wherein the first hole is located in the side member.

### Claim 11

A valve assembly, comprising:
a body;
a flow path extending through the body;
a closing mechanism within the flow path;
a nut configured to couple to the body;
a first hole extending into the nut; and
a temperature sensor connected to the first hole.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The valve assembly of claim 11, wherein the nut comprises a top plate that is parallel with the closing mechanism and a side member extending downward from and perpendicular to the top plate.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The valve assembly of claim 12, wherein the first hole is located in the top plate of the nut.

### Claim 14 (depends on 12)

The valve assembly of claim 12, wherein the first hole is located in the side member.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

The valve assembly of claim 11, wherein the flow path comprises a pipe extending through a bottom portion of the body and into a top portion of the body.

### Claim 16 (depends on 11)

The valve assembly of claim 11, wherein the first hole is threaded.

### Claim 17

A system, comprising:
a valve assembly, comprising:
a body;
a flow path extending through the body;
a closing mechanism within the flow path;
an actuator in communication with the closing mechanism;
a nut coupled to the body; and
a hole extending into the nut; and
a temperature sensor connected to the hole.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The system of claim 17, wherein the hole is located adjacent to the closing mechanism.

### Claim 19 (depends on 17)

The system of claim 17, wherein the hole has a diameter in the range of 1 mm to 6 mm and a depth in the range of 1 mm to 6 mm.

### Claim 20 (depends on 17)

The system of claim 17, wherein the hole is threaded.
