## Abstract

According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a device and technique for impact detection includes an impact indicator having a housing enclosing a detection assembly where the detection assembly is configured to detect an acceleration event. A module is configured to output data indicative of an activation state of the detection assembly. The indicator also includes logic configured to blockchain the data output by the module.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An impact indicator, comprising:
a housing enclosing a detection assembly, the detection assembly configured to detect an acceleration event;
circuitry configured to output from the impact indicator a first value in a non-activated state of the impact indicator and a second value in an activated state of the impact indicator; and
logic configured to, each time the circuitry is powered based on radio waves received by the circuitry, add to blockchain data created by the logic the first value based on the impact indicator being in the non-activated state or the second value based on the impact indicator being in the activated state.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The impact indicator of claim 1, wherein the circuitry comprises radio-frequency identification (RFID) circuitry.
