Smart archery bow with performance monitoring and learning features

A smart bow comprising:

• an accelerometer;
• a gyroscope;
• a user interface;
• processing circuitry configured to:
• obtain time-series acceleration data from the accelerometer and time-series orientation data from the gyroscope;
• compare the time-series acceleration data and the time-series orientation data with known time-series data of a particular action to determine whether the particular action has been performed;
• and
• in response to determining that the particular action has been performed, operate the user interface to provide analytic data of the particular action performed with the smart bow, the analytic data comprising a characteristic of the particular action determined based on the time-series acceleration data and the time-series orientation data;
• and
• a modular housing within which the accelerometer, the gyroscope, the user interface, and the processing circuitry are positioned, the modular housing fixedly coupled with a structure of the smart bow.

A modular unit for a smart bow, the modular unit comprising:

• an accelerometer;
• a gyroscope;
• a user interface;
• processing circuitry configured to:
• obtain acceleration data from the accelerometer and orientation data from the gyroscope;
• detect an action performed with the smart bow based on the acceleration data and the orientation data;
• and
• operate the user interface to provide analytic data of the action performed with the smart bow, the analytic data comprising a characteristic of the action determined based on the acceleration data and the orientation data;
• and
• a housing within which the accelerometer, the gyroscope, the user interface, and the processing circuitry are positioned;
• wherein the modular unit is configured to be positioned within an inner volume of a handgrip of the smart bow with the user interface accessible to a user of the smart bow.
