## Abstract

A lighted architectural-structure covering is disclosed. In one example of an embodiment, an architectural-structure covering includes a light source arranged and configured to illuminate at least a portion of the architectural-structure covering. The architectural-structure covering may include first and second coverings. The light source is arranged and configured to direct light onto the second covering, which is arranged and configured to reflect, redistribute, etc. the received light toward the interior space of the room in which the architectural-structure covering is located. Thus arranged, the architectural-structure covering may be used to create, for example, diffused-lighting effects.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An architectural-structure covering comprising:
a first covering movable in a first direction between an extended position and a retracted position;
a second, reflective covering movable in the first direction between an extended position and a retracted position; and
a light source for selectively directing light towards the second, reflective covering to illuminate an exposed portion of the second, reflective covering,
wherein the light source extends in a second direction orientated perpendicularly relative to the first direction.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, further comprising:
a first rotatable member operatively coupled to said first covering; and
a second rotatable member operatively coupled to said second covering.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 2, further comprising a headrail, said first and second rotatable members being at least partially positioned with said headrail.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, wherein said first and second coverings are separately and independently movable between their respective extended and retracted positions so that a position of said first and second coverings are separately and independently positionable.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, wherein said first and second coverings are arranged and configured to move in unison.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, wherein said first and second coverings are arranged and configured to extend and retract simultaneously.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, wherein said first and second coverings are arranged and configured to extend to an identical position.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, wherein said light source includes an array of light-emitting diodes.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, wherein said light source extends across a length of said second, reflective covering.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, wherein said second, reflective covering is arranged and configured to distribute the emitted light toward an interior space of a room.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, wherein said architectural-structure covering is arranged and configured to distribute light across a cross-sectional area of an exposed portion of said second, reflective covering.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, wherein, when said second, reflective covering is partially extended, said light source is arranged and configured to illuminate only said partially extended portion of said second, reflective covering.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 1, further comprising a reflector for receiving light from said light source and for directing said light towards said second, reflective covering.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 13, wherein said reflector is positioned within a headrail.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 13, wherein said light source is coupled to said reflector.

### Claim 16 (depends on 13)

The architectural-structure covering of claim 13, wherein said reflector includes a reflective surface positioned adjacent to said light source for directing the received light towards said second, reflective covering.

### Claim 17

A method for operating a lighted architectural-structure covering, the method comprising:
selectively moving a first covering in a first direction to an extended position;
selectively moving a second, reflective covering in the first direction to an extended position; and
selectively illuminating a light source, said light source illuminating an extended portion of said second, reflective covering, wherein the light source extends perpendicularly relative to the first direction.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, wherein said first and second coverings are separately and independently movable so that a desired position of said first and second coverings are separately and independently positionable.

### Claim 19 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, wherein said first and second coverings are selectively moved in unison.

### Claim 20 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, wherein said first and second coverings are arranged and configured to extend and retract simultaneously.

### Claim 21 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, wherein said first and second coverings are moved to same extent.

### Claim 22 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, wherein selectively illuminating a light source comprises only illuminating said exposed portion of said second, reflective covering.

### Claim 23 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, wherein illuminating an exposed portion of said second, reflective covering comprises said light source emitting light onto a reflector, said reflector receiving light from said light source and directing said light towards said second, reflective covering.
