Abstract
An element includes a coupling line in which a first conductor layer, a dielectric layer, and a second conductor layer are stacked in this order, and which is connected to the second conductor layer in order to mutually synchronize a plurality of antennas at a frequency of a terahertz wave; and a bias line connecting a power supply for supplying a bias signal to a semiconductor layer and the second conductor layer. A wiring layer in which the coupling line is formed and a wiring layer in which the bias line is formed are different layers. The bias line is disposed in a layer between the first conductor layer and the second conductor layer.
Claims17
An element comprising:
- an antenna array that includes a first antenna and a second antenna arranged in this order along a first direction, and a third antenna and a fourth antenna arranged in this order along the first direction, wherein the first antenna and the third antenna are arranged in this order along a second direction that intersects the first direction;
- a first coupling line for coupling the first antenna and the second antenna;
- a second coupling line for coupling the third antenna and the fourth antenna;
- and
- a bias line for suppling a bias voltage to the first antenna, the second antenna, the third antenna, and the fourth antenna and that includes a first part and a second part,
- wherein the first antenna, the second antenna, the third antenna, and the fourth antenna each produce or detect a terahertz wave,
- wherein the first part passes between the first antenna and the third antenna, and passes between the second antenna and the fourth antenna, in a plan view,
- wherein the second part passes between the first antenna and the second antenna, and passes between the third antenna and the fourth antenna, in the plan view, and
- wherein the second part intersects the first part.
