## Abstract

A simulated dissectible tissue model for practicing surgical skills is provided. The simulated tissue comprises a simulated anatomical structure, such as one or more artificial vessel, embedded with a silicone gel layer between two silicone layers. The simulated dissectible tissue, with or without a simulated anatomical structure, is connected to one or more artificial organ via a fiberfill layer. The fiberfill layer includes a plurality of entangled fibers embedded between two adjacent silicone layers. The fiberfill layer creates a dissection plane that permits the one or more artificial organ to be removed by spreading apart and selectively dissecting the chains of entangled fibers. Artificial nerves may be included in fiberfill layer.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A simulated dissectible tissue structure for surgical training, comprising:
a planar multilayer structure having a top surface and a bottom surface, the planar multilayer structure comprising:
a top layer of silicone having an upper surface and a lower surface;
a bottom layer of silicone having an upper surface and a lower surface;
a middle layer located between the top layer and the bottom layer; and
a polyfill sandwich layer, the polyfill sandwich layer being connected to the lower surface of the bottom layer; and
a silicone layer having an upper surface and a lower surface; the silicone layer and the planar multilayer structure being bonded together to form a joint along an entire length of a strip of white silicone at a contact location,
wherein the strip of white silicone at the contact location is configured to bind the silicone layer and the planar multilayer structure together such that the upper and lower surfaces of each of the silicone layer and the planar multilayer structure are divided into two portions.
