Abstract
In one aspect, compounds modulating sirtuin activity are described herein. Sirtuin modulation by compounds described herein includes sirtuin activation and sirtuin inhibition. Modulation of sirtuin activity includes sirtuin activation and/or sirtuin inhibition. In some embodiments, a sirtuin modulating compound and/or salt thereof is of Formula I described herein.

A sirtuin inhibiting compound and/or salt thereof is of Formula I:
- wherein Ar1 is aryl or heteroaryl, R1-R7 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, heteroalkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, —C(O)R8, alkoxy, halo, nitryl (—NO2), and hydroxy, wherein the Ar1, alkyl, alkenyl, heteroalkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl are optionally substituted with one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of (C1-C10)-alkyl, (C1-C10)-alkenyl, alkoxy, halo, amine, and hydroxy;
- and wherein R8 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, alkenyl, and NR9R10, wherein R9 and R10 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, and cycloalkyl;
- and wherein m and n are integers each having a value independently selected from 0 to 10.
