Abstract
There is disclosed: a wood adhesive composition comprising a protein and a poly(glycidyl ether); a method for using the wood adhesive composition to make a composite wood product; and composite wood products made using the wood adhesive composition.
Claims19
A wood adhesive composition comprising:
- a protein,
- a wetting agent, and
- a poly(glycidyl ether),
- wherein the wood adhesive composition is free of formaldehyde,
- wherein the wood adhesive composition is an aqueous wood adhesive composition comprising from 20 percent by weight to 60 percent by weight dry solids, and wherein the pH of the wood adhesive composition is from 8 to 13.
