Abstract
A magazine for use with a fastening tool. The magazine can have a pusher assembly that can be retracted into a recess in the magazine to facilitate loading and reloading of fasteners. The pusher assembly can have a pusher assembly knob which can be reversibly latched to a detent to maintain the pusher assembly in a retracted state. The fastening tool can use a magazine which can be reloaded by a method which has a step of reversibly retracting the pusher assembly into the retracted state to allow for feeding one or more fasteners to the magazine.
Claims22
A fastening device, comprising:
- a nosepiece adapted to receive a fastener and having a nosepiece shaft;
- a power source adapted to power a fastener driving mechanism which can drive the fastener into a workpiece when triggered;
- a pusher assembly adapted to impart a force upon the fastener in a direction toward the nosepiece when the pusher assembly is in an engaged state;
- a contact trip having at least a portion configured adjacent to said nosepiece shaft and configured to selectively move along an axis of operation along a portion of the nosepiece shaft--;-
- a upper pin configured to move along the axis of operation in conjunction with a movement of the contact trip.
A fastening device, comprising:
- a nosepiece adapted to receive a fastener;
- a power source adapted to power a fastener driving mechanism which can drive the fastener into a workpiece when triggered;
- an upper contact trip configured to selectively activate a driving of the fastener;
- and
- a lower contact trip configured to contact a workpiece--,--
- wherein the upper contact trip is at a distance from the lower contact trip, and
- wherein the distance between the upper contact trip and the lower contact trip can be adjusted.
A fastening device, comprising:
- a nosepiece adapted to receive a fastener and having a nosepiece shaft;
- a power source adapted to power a fastener driving mechanism which can drive the fastener into a workpiece when triggered;
- a pusher assembly adapted to impart a force upon the fastener in a direction toward the nosepiece when the pusher assembly is in an engaged state;
- a contact trip configured to selectively move along an axis of operation along a portion of the nosepiece shaft;
- a contact trip spring;
- and
- a contact trip actuator,
- wherein the contact trip spring is configured at a location between at least a portion of the contact trip and at least a portion of the contact trip actuator, and
- wherein the contact trip spring imparts a bias upon the movement of the contact trip.
A fastening device, comprising:
- a nosepiece adapted to receive a fastener and having a nosepiece shaft;
- a power source adapted to power a fastener driving mechanism which can drive the fastener into a workpiece when triggered;
- a pusher assembly adapted to impart a force upon the fastener in a direction toward the nosepiece when the pusher assembly is in an engaged state;
- and
- a contact trip at least in part surrounding a portion of the nosepiece shaft and configured to selectively move along an axis of operation along a portion of the nosepiece shaft.
