Device and method for providing edge computing service in wireless communication system

A user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the UE comprising:

• a mobile terminal configured to perform a modem operation;
• and
• an edge enabler client configured to:
• transmit, to an edge data network configuration server, a provisioning request message using a uniform resource identifier (URI) address of the edge data network configuration server, and
• receive, from the edge data network configuration server, a provisioning response message,
• wherein the provisioning response message includes edge data network (EDN) connection information including at least one of a data network name (DNN) or an access point name (APN) and information on at least one edge enabler server including an address of the at least one edge enabler server.

A method performed by an edge data network configuration server in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:

• receiving, from a user equipment (UE), a provisioning request message, wherein the provisioning request message is transmitted using a uniform resource identifier (URI) address of the edge data network configuration server;
• and
• transmitting, to the UE, a provisioning response message,
• wherein the provisioning response message includes edge data network (EDN) connection information including at least one of a data network name (DNN) or an access point name (APN) and information on at least one edge enabler server including an address of the at least one enabler server.

An edge data network configuration server in a wireless communication system, the edge data network configuration server comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• a controller configured to:
• receive, from a user equipment (UE), via the transceiver, a provisioning request message, wherein the provisioning request message is transmitted using a uniform resource identifier (URI) address of the edge data network configuration server, and
• transmit, to the UE via the transceiver, a provisioning response message,
• wherein the provisioning response message includes edge data network (EDN) connection information including at least one of a data network name (DNN) or an access point name (APN) and information on at least one edge enabler server including an address of the at least one enabler server.
