Abstract
Implant related risk of revision not caused by an infection or metal on metal reaction can be addressed by the methods provided herein, including diagnosing implant related risk of revision, use of kits for such diagnostic purposes and compositions for use in the treatment of implant related risk of revision, in particular implant related risk of revision not caused by an infection or metal on metal reaction.
Claims13
A method of identifying implant related risk of revision, the method comprising:
- providing a biological sample from a human subject with an implant;
- and
- detecting a level of a protein in the biological sample, wherein the level of the protein is at least 4 mg/l, wherein the protein comprises calprotectin, wherein the biological sample comprises synovial fluid, and wherein the implant comprises a joint implant.
