Abstract
A system according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a processor; and at least one inertial sensor having a known physical relationship with a tracked object in a first pose, the at least one inertial sensor providing a measurement indicative of a movement of the tracked object from the first pose to a second pose, wherein the processor determines the second pose of the tracked object based, at least in part, on the measurement provided by the at least one inertial sensor.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- at least one inertial sensor having a known physical relationship with a tracked object in a first pose, the at least one inertial sensor providing a measurement indicative of a movement of the tracked object from the first pose to a second pose,
- wherein the processor determines the second pose of the tracked object based on the measurement provided by the at least one inertial sensor and a second measurement provided by one or more encoders positioned on or within the tracked object.
A system, comprising:
- a processor,
- a tracked object oriented in a first pose;
- and
- an inertial measurement unit disposed in a known physical relation to the tracked object, the inertial measurement unit producing a first reading indicating a change in pose of the tracked object, wherein the processor determines a second pose of the tracked object based at least in part on the first reading provided by the inertial measurement unit and a second reading provided by one or more encoders positioned on or within the tracked object.
A method, comprising:
- receiving, from a first sensor coupled with a tracked object, a first sensor reading;
- determining, based at least in part on the first sensor reading, a first pose of the tracked object;
- receiving, from a second sensor coupled with the tracked object, a second sensor reading indicating the tracked object has changed pose from the first pose to a second pose;
- receiving, from the first sensor, a third sensor reading related to the change in pose of the tracked object;
- and
- determining, based on the second sensor reading and the third sensor reading, a third pose of the tracked object.
