Abstract
A container system having an access portal is disclosed. The container system may contain a selected material for access and withdraw through the portal. The portal may be engaged in any appropriate manner, such as with the application of a vacuum or pouring out.
Claims20
A mouthpiece for use with a container assembly, the container assembly having a system for containment and delivery of a material to a user, the system including a container defining a volume in which a material can be disposed and a cover coupleable to the container, the mouthpiece being engageable by a mouth of a user to draw material therethrough, the mouthpiece comprising:
- a passage extending therethrough;
- a mouth engaging portion having an outer wall, the mouth engaging portion including a first portion with a first exterior surface that extends along a first line, and a second portion with a second exterior surface that extends along a second line, wherein the first line forms a first angle relative to a horizontal plane, the second line forms a second angle relative to the horizontal plane, and the second angle is less than the first angle;
- an engaging surface that includes a horizontally outwardly oriented ridge that receives a projection of the cover, the ridge extending around the mouthpiece;
- a flange receiving portion located below the engaging surface, the flange receiving portion being positionable between two portions of the cover, the flange receiving portion having an outer edge being located below and extending radially outwardly beyond the engaging surface;
- and
- an outer wall that extends linearly from a top surface of the mouthpiece to the engaging surface.
A mouthpiece for use with a container assembly, the container assembly having a system for containment and delivery of a material to a user, the system including a container defining a volume containing a material, and a withdraw tube extending into the volume through which the material can be withdrawn, the system including a filter holding member coupled to the withdraw tube to secure a filter between the filter holding member and the withdraw tube, the mouthpiece being connectable with the withdraw tube and engageable by a mouth of a user to draw material therethrough, the mouthpiece comprising:
- an engaging surface that includes a horizontally outwardly oriented ridge that receives a projection of the container, the ridge extending around the mouthpiece;
- a lower flange portion that sealingly engages the filter holding member, the lower flange portion receiving a portion of the filter holding member, the lower flange portion being located below the engaging surface and having an outer edge being located below and extending radially outwardly beyond the engaging surface;
- a mouth engaging portion integrally formed with the lower flange portion;
- and
- a passage extending from the lower flange portion to the mouth engaging portion,
- wherein the mouth engaging portion includes a first portion with a first exterior surface that extends along a first line, a second portion with a second exterior surface that extends along a second line, the first line forms a first angle relative to a horizontal plane, the second line forms a second angle relative to the horizontal plane, and the second angle is less than the first angle.
A mouthpiece for use with a container assembly, the container assembly having a system for containment and delivery of a material to a user, the system including a container defining a volume containing a material, and a withdraw tube extending into the volume through which the material can be withdrawn, the system including a filter holding member coupled to the withdraw tube to secure a filter between the filter holding member and the withdraw tube, the mouthpiece being connectable with the withdraw tube and engageable by a mouth of a user to draw material therethrough, the mouthpiece comprising:
- an engaging surface that includes a horizontally outwardly oriented ridge that receives a projection of the container, the ridge extending around the mouthpiece;
- a lower flange portion that sealingly engages the filter holding member, the lower flange portion receiving a portion of the filter holding member, the lower flange portion being located below the engaging surface and having an outer edge being located below and extending radially outwardly beyond the engaging surface;
- a mouth engaging portion coupled to the lower flange portion, the mouth engaging portion including:
- a top surface that can be contacted by a lid of the container assembly;
- a first portion with a first exterior surface that extends along a first line;
- and
- a second portion with a second exterior surface that extends along a second line, the first line forming a first angle relative to a horizontal plane, the second line forming a second angle relative to the horizontal plane, the second angle being less than the first angle;
- and
- a passage extending from the lower flange portion to the mouth engaging portion, wherein the mouthpiece is compressible when it is engaged by the lid, and the mouthpiece has an uncompressed configuration and a compressed configuration.
