Abstract
An information processing apparatus includes a first sensor, a second sensor, and a central processing unit (CPU). The first sensor detects an object present in a first direction with respect to an autonomous mobile body. The second sensor detects the object present in a second direction with respect to the autonomous mobile body, by a system different from a system of the first sensor. The CPU controls an operation of the autonomous mobile body based on a detection result acquired by the first sensor and a detection result acquired by the second sensor.
Claims15
An information processing apparatus, comprising:
- a first sensor configured to detect an object present in a first direction with respect to an autonomous mobile body;
- a second sensor configured to detect the object present in a second direction with respect to the autonomous mobile body, wherein
- the second sensor is different from the first sensor, and
- a detection range of the first sensor in the first direction overlaps with a detection range of the second sensor in the second direction;
- a plurality of third sensors configured to detect a floor surface around the autonomous mobile body;
- and
- a central processing unit (CPU) configured to:
- control an operation of the autonomous mobile body based on a first detection result, a second detection result, and a third detection result, wherein
- the first detection result is associated with the detected object in the first direction,
- the second detection result is associated with the detected object in the second direction, and
- the third detection result is associated with the detected floor surface around the autonomous mobile body.
A method for controlling an autonomous mobile body, the method comprising:
- detecting, by a first sensor associated with the autonomous mobile body, an object present in a first direction with respect to the autonomous mobile body;
- detecting, by a second sensor associated with the autonomous mobile body, the object present in a second direction with respect to the autonomous mobile body, wherein
- the second sensor is different from the first sensor, and
- a detection range of the first sensor in the first direction overlaps with a detection range of the second sensor in the second direction;
- detecting, by a plurality of third sensors, a floor surface around the autonomous mobile body;
- and
- controlling an operation of the autonomous mobile body based on a first detection result, a second detection result, and a third detection result, wherein
- the first detection result is associated with the detected object in the first direction,
- the second detection result is associated with the detected object in the second direction, and
- the third detection result is associated with the detected floor surface around the autonomous mobile body.
A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored thereon, computer executable instructions, which when executed by a processor to control an autonomous mobile body, cause the processor to execute operations, the operations comprising:
- detecting an object present in a first direction with respect to the autonomous mobile body,
- wherein the object in the first direction is detected by use of a first sensor;
- detecting the object present in a second direction with respect to the autonomous mobile body, wherein
- the object in the second direction is detected by use of a second sensor,
- the second sensor is different from the first sensor, and
- a detection range of the first sensor in the first direction overlaps with a detection range of the second sensor in the second direction;
- detecting a floor surface around the autonomous mobile body,
- wherein the floor surface is detected by use of a third sensor;
- and
- controlling an operation of the autonomous mobile body based on a first detection result, a second detection result, and a third detection result, wherein
- the first detection result is associated with the detected object in the first direction,
- the second detection result is associated with the detected object in the second direction, and
- the third detection result is associated with the detected floor surface around the autonomous mobile body.
