Audio processing of multi-channel audio signals

An apparatus for audio focusing, the apparatus comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including computer program code, which, when executed by the at least one processor, causes the apparatus to:

• receive a multi-channel audio signal that represents sounds in respective ones of a plurality of sound directions that correspond to respective ones of a plurality of positions in an image area of an image;
• receive an indication of an audio focus direction that corresponds to a first position of the plurality of positions in the image area;
• select a primary sound direction from the plurality of sound directions such that the primary sound direction corresponds to a second position of the plurality of positions in the image area that is defined by shifting the first position into the second position such that the second position is offset from said first position in a direction that brings the primary sound direction further away from a center point of the image area;
• and
• derive, based on said multi-channel audio signal in dependence of the selected primary sound direction, an output audio signal where sounds in respective ones of the plurality of sound directions defined via the selected primary sound direction are emphasized in relation to sounds in respective ones of the plurality of sound directions other than those defined via the selected primary sound direction.
