Abstract
The present invention is directed to compositions comprising purified Bombyx mori cocoon silk peptide fiber, refined Buglossoides arvensis seed oil, and optionally Blueberry extract, and related methods for decreasing inflammation and providing neuroprotection. The compositions provide synergistic effects and may be used to treat relevant diseases and disorders.

A composition comprising purified Bombyx mori cocoon silk peptide fiber present in an amount of about 100-5500 mg, refined Buglossoides arvensis seed oil present in an amount of about 25-750 mg, and optionally blueberry extract, wherein the purified Bombyx mori cocoon silk peptide fiber is water-soluble and is at least 85% by weight fibroin and less than 10% by weight sericin;
- wherein the mass balance ratio of said oil to said silk peptide fiber is from about 0.18:1 to about 0.43:1.
