Abstract
Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture to perform speed-enhanced playback of recorded media are disclosed. Example apparatus to playback media disclosed herein comprise at least one memory, machine-readable instructions, and processor circuitry to execute the machine-readable instructions to parse an audio frame included in the media to determine a number of skip bytes included in the audio frame, compare the number of skip bytes to a threshold, associate the audio frame with a plurality of candidate frames identified in the media when the number of skip bytes satisfies the threshold, and calculate a speed-enhanced playback rate for the media based on the plurality of candidate frames identified in the media.
Claims20
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, having stored thereon program instructions that, upon execution by a processor, cause performance of operations comprising:
- identifying candidate audio frames to drop during speed-enhanced playback of media, each candidate audio frame identified based on a comparison of a number of skip bytes included in the candidate audio frame to a threshold;
- and
- performing the speed-enhanced playback of the media by dropping one or more of the identified candidate audio frames and one or more corresponding video frames.
A computing system comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, having stored thereon program instructions that, upon execution by the processor, cause performance of operations comprising:
- identifying candidate audio frames to drop during speed-enhanced playback of media, each candidate audio frame identified based on a comparison of a number of skip bytes included in the candidate audio frame to a threshold;
- and
- performing the speed-enhanced playback of the media by dropping one or more of the identified candidate audio frames and one or more corresponding video frames.
A method performed by a computing system, the method comprising:
- identifying candidate audio frames to drop during speed-enhanced playback of media, each candidate audio frame identified based on a comparison of a number of skip bytes included in the candidate audio frame to a threshold;
- and
- performing the speed-enhanced playback of the media by dropping one or more of the identified candidate audio frames and one or more corresponding video frames.
