Playback, recording, and analysis of music scales via software configuration

A system comprising:

• at least one hardware processor;
• and
• one or more software modules that, when executed by the at least one hardware processor,
• generate a graphical user interface comprising a staff canvas, a keyboard canvas, a scale input, at least one parameter input, and a play input;
• receive via the scale input a selection of one of a plurality of music scales, wherein a music scale comprises a configuration having a plurality of adjustable musical parameters;
• in response to the selection of one of the plurality of music scales, update the staff canvas to visually represent a plurality of notes from the selected music scale on the staff;
• receive via the at least one parameter input a selection of one of a plurality of options for a musical parameter;
• in response to the selection of one of the plurality of options for the musical parameter, update one or both of the staff canvas and the keyboard canvas to reflect the selected option for the musical parameter;
• and,
• receive via the play input a selection of the play input;
• in response to selection of the play input, start playback of the selected music scale according to the selected option for the musical parameter, wherein starting playback of the selected music scale comprises, for each note in the music scale, retrieving an audio file of each note in the selected music scale from a database, and constructing a soundtrack from the retrieved audio files and in accordance with the selected option for the at least one of the plurality of adjustable musical parameters.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored therein, wherein the instructions, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:

• generate a graphical user interface comprising a staff canvas, a keyboard canvas, a scale input, at least one parameter input, and a play input;
• receive via the scale input a selection of one of a plurality of music scales, wherein a music scale comprises a configuration having a plurality of adjustable musical parameters;
• in response to the selection of one of the plurality of music scales, update the staff canvas to visually represent a plurality of notes from the selected music scale on the staff;
• receive via the at least one parameter input a selection of one of a plurality of options for a musical parameter;
• in response to the selection of one of the plurality of options for the musical parameter, update one or both of the staff canvas and the keyboard canvas to reflect the selected option for the musical parameter;
• and,
• receive via the play input a selection of the play input;
• in response to selection of the play input, start playback of the selected music scale according to the selected option for the musical parameter, wherein starting playback of the selected music scale comprises, for each note in the music scale, retrieving an audio file of each note in the selected music scale from a database, and constructing a soundtrack from the retrieved audio files and in accordance with the selected option for the at least one of the plurality of adjustable musical parameters.
