Abstract
The present invention relates to a recombinant microorganism which is modified to be capable of producing diosmetin and/or hesperetin and to the use thereof for producing diosmetin and/or hesperetin.
Claims19
A recombinant microorganism comprising a heterologous nucleic acid sequence coding for an O-methyltransferase (OMT) which methylates eriodictyol and/or luteolin in position 4′, wherein the O-methyltransferase (OMT) is selected from an enzyme comprising a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:
- 87, 89, 91 and 93 or comprising a sequence having at least 90% identity with a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:
- 87, 89, 91 and 93 and having O-methyltransferase activity, and wherein the microorganism is a yeast.
