Dependent claims

A ferroelectric nematic (NF) composition comprising a ferroelectric nematic host and a nonlinear optical compound having a formula of:

D-B-A, wherein D is a donor moiety, B is a π-conjugated bridging moiety, and A is an acceptor moiety;
wherein the second order nonlinear optical (NLO) coefficient of the nonlinear optical compound is higher than the NLO coefficient of the NF host.
