Abstract
A system for powering a prosthetic arm is disclosed. The system includes at least one internal battery located in the prosthetic arm, at least one external battery connected to the prosthetic arm, and a master controller configured to connect either the at least one internal battery or the at least one external battery to a power bus to power the prosthetic arm.

Index pivot system for a prosthetic hand comprising:
- an index base assembly;
- a pivot ground element configured to be fixed relative to said index base assembly and rotate relative to an index member assembly;
- a pivot shaft configured to fix said index base assembly and said pivot ground element;
- a retention base configured to be fixed relative to said pivot shaft;
- and
- a fastening member configured to fix said retention base relative to said index base assembly.
